Ronald McDonald House Central Alberta, was the first new House to open in Canada in over 19 years. On February 27, 2012 the House opened its doors to support sick children and their families from rural communities surrounding Red Deer and throughout Central Alberta. More than 33,000 children stay at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre each year, and one-third of those children come from out of town with their families. For those not staying at the House, common areas will be available to families for day use.
