Ronald McDonald House of Southwestern Ontario opened the Ronald McDonald Family Room London in 2012, for all families with children receiving medical care at the Children’s Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre.
Open from 9am to 9pm, seven days a week, it features a relaxing common area with a television, fireplace and phone, two computer stations with Internet access, and a kitchenette with dining counter. There are three sleep rooms available for naps, as well as shower and laundry facilities. Whether it’s to have a quiet moment, a shower, make a cup of tea, use the computer, do a little laundry, or have a nap, the Family Room offers families the support they need right inside the hospital walls.
The Family Room is staffed at all times by a friendly Ronald McDonald House volunteer. It helps families feel miles away from the hospital setting – while being just steps away from their hospitalized child.
